The OECD recently released its first report on the Survey of Social and Emotional Skills. The study included participation from cities in 9 countries. It included not only self-reporting by 10 and 15 year old students, but also ratings by their teachers and parents.
In this second of a three-part series, we will be exploring the findings on the intersect between social and emotional skills and gender. For example, social emotional skills dip in adolescence, particularly for girls. Girls reported higher levels of responsibility, empathy, and cooperation. We’re privileged to be able to further explore these findings with the leads from two participating countries – Colombia and the USA.
